Don't Ever Accuse Them Of Being Xenophobic

Associated Press= JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel has flown home 150 illegal Sudanese migrants in a secret operation that was the largest such deportation from the Jewish state, an Israeli official confirmed Tuesday.

The group, which left late Monday, was the biggest to leave since Israel began quietly deporting hundreds of African migrants a few years ago. The deportations are part of an attempt to stanch the influx of Africans slipping across Israel's porous southern border with Egypt.

The Sudanese left willingly, according to officials.

"We are aware that people expressed interest to go back," said William Tall, an official from the U.N. refugee agency. "I can confirm that no coercion was involved in their going back."

There was no official Israeli comment. An Israeli official, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak on the record, said a Christian organization helped coordinate the return of 150 Sudanese to Sudan via a third unidentified country.

It was the first time a special flight was arranged for African migrants to leave Israel, the official said. Migrants have previously been deported on commercial flights.

The Anti-White Agenda Clearly On Display

A UCLA professor has given public speeches in support of the DREAM Act in which he has made inflammatory statements, including the suggestion that Hispanics should replace "old white men" in positions of power and that Republican leaders in the Senate who oppose the immigration bill are racists.

On the UCLA website, Kent Wong is listed as the director of the Center for Labor Research and Education at UCLA, where he teaches Labor Studies and Asian-American Studies.

On Dec. 13, Wong gave a speech at a pro-illegal immigration rally at McArthur Park in Los Angeles in which he endorsed the DREAM Act in racist terms, according to a video first surfaced by Eyeblast.tv.

Toward the end of his speech calling for the DREAM Act to be passed by Congress, Wong proclaimed to the rally, "When that day happens, the young people of the DREAM Act movement will go on to accomplish and do great things with our lives. You will go on to become lawyers, teachers, doctors and members of the U.S. Congress to replace those old white men. (Applause) You are the hope and future of this country. You represent the hope and future of your generation."

The World's Bully

Israel's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday condemned as "highly regrettable" Argentina's announcement of the previous day that it recognized Palestine as "a free and independent state" within its borders prior to the 1967 Six-Day War.

The decision was highly "damaging," foreign ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor said, "because they are in fact shattering the foundation of the peace process."

The recognition while peace negotiations are ongoing and no final peace deal has yet been reached "is contrary to the existing legal framework of the peace process," he added.

That legal framework states that a permanent and definitive solution to the conflict, including the establishment of a Palestinian state, can only be the outcome of negotiations and mutually agreed solutions, he argued.

He added the Argentine declaration did not affect the real situation on the ground, nor did it help the Palestinians because it did nothing to promote Israeli-Palestinian reconciliation.

"We have embassies and we have made our opinions known to the local authorities through our diplomats," the Foreign Ministry official told the German Press-Agency dpa.

'Fair Housing' - Israeli Style

"In answer to the many questions, we say that it is forbidden in the Torah to sell a house or a field in the land of Israel to a foreigner," they wrote, referring to the Pentateuch - the first five books of the Bible.

The letter, which was signed mostly by state-employed rabbis, warns that "he who sells or rents them a flat in an area where Jews live causes great harm to his neighbours."

"After someone sells or rents just one flat, the value of all the neighbouring flats drops... He who sells or rents (to non-Jews) causes his neighbours a big loss and his sin is great," the letter said, in what was largely understood to refer to Israel's Arab minority.

"Anyone who sells (property to a non-Jew) must be cut off!!"

According to the Israeli news website Ynet, the letter is to be published in religious newspapers and distributed in synagogues across the country later this week.

A Deal Between Wikileaks And Israel?

A number of commentators, particularly in Turkey and Russia, have been wondering why the hundreds of thousands of American classified documents leaked by the website last month did not contain anything that may embarrass the Israeli government, like just about every other state referred to in the documents. The answer appears to be a secret deal struck between the WikiLeaks “heart and soul”, as Assange humbly described himself once [1], with Israeli officials, which ensured that all such documents were 'removed' before the rest were made public.

According to an Arabic investigative journalism website [2], Assange had received money from semi-official Israeli sources and promised them, in a “secret, video-recorded agreement,” not to publish any document that may harm Israeli security or diplomatic interests.

The sources of the Al-Haqiqa report are said to be former WikiLeaks volunteers who have left the organisation in the last few months over Assange's “autocratic leadership” and “lack of transparency.”

In a recent interview with the German daily Die Tageszeitung, former WikiLeaks spokesperson Daniel Domscheit-Berg said he and other WikiLeaks dissidents are planning to launch their own whistleblowers' platform to fulfil WikiLeaks's original aim of “limitless file sharing.” [3]

Germans To Foot Another Bill Tied To Holocaust Survivors

It never ends.

Germany is to double the amount of money it gives to Jewish Holocaust survivors for elderly home care, bringing the total to €110 million next year, as a wave of former victims reaches very old age.

A spokesman for the Finance Ministry confirmed to The Local on Tuesday that the ministry had decided “as a humanitarian gesture” to provide the extra money to the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany, the New York-based organisation that distributes compensation money for Holocaust survivors.

Even with many Holocaust survivors dying each year, the need for home care – in which an elderly person is looked after by a carer at their own house rather than moving into a nursing home – would keep rising until 2014, the claims conference said, according to the Associated Press. After that, the number of survivors dying will outnumber those becoming frail enough to need care.

The funding boost for 2011 is expected to raise the number of needy survivors receiving subsidised care to about 70,000 from the present 58,000 worldwide.

The claims conference was rocked last month by the revelation that current and former employees were involved in a long-running fraud in which $42 million of money meant for survivors was siphoned off via phony claims. Some 17 people were arrested in connection with the scheme.
